Why Owners Hire ECS

ECS was founded to give owners a level of control and protection not available through traditional construction project manager delivery methods. Our role is simple - lead projects for owners to align every decision and task with their best interests.

Florida construction projects can and do fail from not having experienced, independent, construction leadership.  


Most construction industry professionals work for themselves - we work for the owner. Unlike construction managers, contractors, or design firms, ECS does not profit from scope expansion or project cost escalation. Nor is ECS beholden to using architects, engineers, or contractors simply based on their reputation or because they prefer to team with their friends in the industry. Instead, we vet prospective firms for cost, performance, and availability to find those that best meet the owner's financial and operational objectives. 


Florida's ongoing construction boom means there is a shortage of good engineers, architects, and construction staff. Industry workload is high and employee turnover is common. The project manager a contractor assigns to complete their construction work may lack the training or time to perform as expected. As a result, owners risk cost increases, schedule delays, and workmanship issues. 


For owners to minimize risk and get treated fairly, they must have an independent, owner-aligned, construction leader. 


WHAT ECS CAN DO FOR YOU 


✅ Project Accountability:  We hold everyone accountable for their performance, including consultants, engineers, architects, contractors, our staff, and the owner's staff.


✅ Risk Mitigation: We identify potential construction risks before they create budget, schedule, or workmanship problems for the owner.


✅ Cost Control: We monitor the project budget, provide financial tracking, review and negotiate change orders and contractor claims, and protect owner interests in contracts.


✅ Schedule Adherence: We monitor progress of services from engineers, architects, contractors, utility companies, governmental agencies, consultants, and suppliers to prevent schedule slippage and to get owner assets operational as soon as possible. 


✅ Owner-Aligned Representation: We objectively filter every project decision and task through one standard - what best protects the owner's best interests? We also ensure the owner maintains decision authority at every stage of the design development and construction. 


✅ Executive Level Reporting: We lead ongoing Progress Meetings with the design, construction, and owner teams to foster transparency, identify and resolve issues, track progress, and record "Action Items" for completion that include the name of the responsible person and their required completion date. Our Executive Progress Reports keep owners informed and projects running smoothly.
